Cosy traveller's nest in Sorong close to shops, a lively neighbourhood, and the airport. Well maintained rooms and facilities, squeek clean (if you might get a sense of mouldy air in the bathroom, please, consider this as absolute normal in this tropical climate with daily downpours), comfy bed, good water pressure for hot showers, superbe breakfast buffet, a gym and swimming pool to relax. Don't miss out their dinner buffets in the evening, very good quality and variety for an absolute reasonable price; several kinds of extra cold beer, red & white and some hard liquors available (of course at an extra price). On their menu, you also find Papeda (the Papuan signature dish). But what made my stay here special indeed was the lovely, professional and motivated staff, always with a bright smile on their face 😎 Thanks a million to Senia, Whitney, Ida, Santo and Audi in particular for a superbe comfy pleasure time indeed 🙏 To all future guests: Travel with an open heart and open mind for local Papuan people and Papua-loving Indonesian "overseas" staff, and you'll simply understand the magic of Papua 🤙

The Vega hotel is right next to the airport, but there is no noise from the planes. I arrived for 3 days needing help finding a doctor for my ear issues, and the staff went above and beyond helping me and driving me around to find a doctor last minute. Especially Whitney was amazing help. The room without windows was fine, but I was also upgraded easily when asking for a room with a window. The breakfast was local cuisine and very good, however if you are looking for English breakfast or need Western breakfast, there is not too much to be had.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel had a lovely entrance, pool area, and great breakfast (included). The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful (especially Rinte? I’m not sure of her name now). They went out of their way to show us the fantastic dinner and breakfast buffets. We booked the window (room with a view) and are glad we did. I will stay here every time I pass through Sorong.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant has a great breakfast and the room service menu isn’t bad, but there is plenty of great local food so much cheaper near by. Air con works well

Have dinner at the hotel, you get a great fixed price and the buffet is incredible. We had people grilling fresh fish and meat. Great selection and really tasty.
